Prosciutto wrapped asparagus in puff pastry

Need a quick appetizer to impress friends? Want to make something quick and yummy for your hunny? Or heck why not just make it for yourself!?! Here I was walking around Trader Joe's as always, picking up groceries I don't need, as I stumbled upon a beautiful cluster of asparagus! Isn't that in season now? Well of course I bought it. Then I was browsing through the cook book section of Marshall's (expensive cook books for cheap are my weakness), and found Theresa's (from Real Housewives of New Jersey) cook book. I was running late for my car test drive, so I flipped through the pages but didn't pay attention too much, except for one picture got stuck in my mind! Some asparagus in puff pastry. So here is my version.
Prosciutto wrapped asparagus in puff pastry
1 sheet puff pastry
18 spears of asparagus
6 pieces of prosciutto
6 oz shiitake mushrooms
1/2 medium sweet onion
little bit of parmesan cheese
1 egg

Take a sheet of puff pastry after it is defrosted and do not open it up, but roll it out in a little bit of flour so it looks like a triangle. Cut it in 6 square pieces. Saute mushrooms and onions in a little bit of oil (I use grape seed oil). Cut of ends off the asparagus and wrap three spears in a piece of prosciutto. Put each puff pastry square on a lightly greased baking sheet, spoon a bit of the mushroom mixture onto each square, place the asparagus bunch on top of the mushrooms and sprinkle with the cheese. Scrunch two ends of the puff pastry together. Beat the egg and spread on each pastry to get it to turn golden brown. Bake for 20 min @ 350.

You see?! All in all it is one of the quickest recipes and I couldn't keep them out of my mouth, or my dad's.
